FIFA World Cup 2026 Venues Finalized: 16 Cities Across North America

FIFA has officially announced the 16 host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This marks the first World Cup to feature 48 teams and span three countries.
The tournament will kick off in Mexico City's iconic Azteca Stadium, while the final will be held at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey. The selection includes 11 cities in the US, 3 in Mexico, and 2 in Canada.
"This World Cup will be the most inclusive and accessible in history," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. "With 104 matches across 16 venues, fans from all three nations will experience the magic of the World Cup."
Notable venues include Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium, Toronto's BMO Field, and Guadalajara's Estadio Akron. Each venue will undergo specific modifications to meet FIFA's requirements, including field dimensions and capacity adjustments.
Ticket sales are expected to begin in late 2024, with organizers anticipating record-breaking attendance figures. The expanded format means more opportunities for smaller nations to qualify and participate in football's premier tournament.
